Co-chairman of the Right Cause party Boris Titov resigns from his post as chairman of the public organization Business Russia. This organization, as far as one can judge, was considered by the party as a channel for contact with businessmen. And although Titov told Interfax that he was not leaving the organization and would be the head of its coordinating council, it is clear that his influence on the organization will weaken. In addition, as Kommersant writes, the idea of criticizing the authorities, which is one way or another supported by at least some representatives of Right Cause (in particular, co-chairman Leonid Gozman, who plans to speak out against violations committed by the capital’s authorities) does not find a response from Delovaya Rossiya. “It’s pointless to criticize the authorities, we need to interact with the anti-crisis headquarters and help the government help business,” the newspaper quotes the words of the current co-chairman and future president of Business Russia, Evgeny Yuryev. When the party was just being formed, Titov himself, in a conversation with a correspondent of the Daily Journal, said that Right Cause was going to “bite” United Russia “from the right.” The business community, represented by Business Russia, does not seem to support him. It is known that before the formation of Right Cause, Delovaya was in full contact with United Russia (and Titov for the time being was a member of the presidium of the General Council of United Russia). And most recently, United Russia refused to participate in the annual National Business Forum held by Business Russia. Perhaps now that Titov, who criticizes the party in power for forgetting the interests of public business, is deprived of his main powers in the organization, DR and United Russia will make peace. Moreover, a significant part of Delovaya remained in the ranks of United.
