The DECR MP was created 60 years ago to represent the Russian Orthodox Church in the international arena and patronize its foreign flock. However, his work does not end there. Perhaps it is precisely thanks to its connections with foreign countries that the DECR has always been the most open and mobile division of the Russian Orthodox Church. This is how he remains to this day. Many social initiatives of the Church in recent years, no matter how one views them, were born in the depths of the DECR. And its leader, Metropolitan Kirill, became one of the exponents of the church position on many issues of modern life.
