From October 18, any Muscovite will be able to receive spiritual help by asking questions to a clergyman by calling the Mercy helpline, reports the Synodal Department for Church Charity and Social Service.

At the moment, 36 clergy are involved in the work of the Mercy helpline, many of whom already have experience communicating on the helpline with cancer patients, in particular priest Andrei Ozolin. On average, each priest receives about two calls per week. During their work, they realized two things: first, their help is in demand, and second, they can help more people. Thus was born the idea of ​​organizing a special Orthodox “hotline” that any Muscovite could call. Some priests have completed training courses from the Ministry of Emergency Situations to provide spiritual and psychological assistance in emergency situations. Operators of the Mercy help service will pre-filter questions and provide background information.
