In memory of two

On January 19, from 19.30 to 20.00, a procession will take place in memory of Stanislav Markelov and Anastasia Baburova, who were killed three years ago. The procession will begin at house 12 on Nikitsky Boulevard and end in Novopushkinsky Square. Next there will be a rally that will last until 22.00. At the same time, the procession is agreed upon with the number of participants up to 300 people, and the rally - up to 1,500.

The action is intended to honor the memory of not only Stanislav Markelov and Anastasia Baburova, but also “other victims of ideological and political terror”, as well as “to speak out against politically and ideologically motivated murders, against manifestations of racism, ethnic and religious hatred, against the use of chauvinism and xenophobia in politics and public life, to call for the fight against xenophobia, racial and national hatred in the Russian Federation.”

On the same day and the coming days, rallies of memory and protest will be held in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Nizhny Novgorod, Yekaterinburg, Kirov, Petrozavodsk, Ufa, Omsk, Naberezhnye Chelny, Severodvinsk, Perm, Tyumen, Voronezh, as well as in Kyiv, Kharkov, Sevastopol, Simferopol, Yalta, Berlin and Paris.
