Almost simultaneously, two events occurred. Yesterday the next test of the Russian strategic missile “Topol -M” took place. The military significantly hinted that the new warhead was also tested, capable of penetrating through the American missile defense system. For more than a year now, Russian leaders have been remembered by these same warheads at any opportunity. The meaning of the state PR is obvious: Russia is still able to destroy the United States and therefore remains at least in something equal to America. It is no accident that the strategic maneuvers of our army are held according to the standard scenario. In addition to launches of ballistic missiles, they involve the flight of our bombers into the Atlantic and an imitation nuclear attack against the United States.

More recently, it seemed: in Washington they look at these military propaganda games without much concern. In fact, in addition to warheads - even unique, to unleash a nuclear war, is still reckless. And in it for the time being, Putin was refused. The nuclear threats of the North Korean dictator Kim Jong Ira were taken seriously, and no conversations of the Russian president about warheads were not.

But this time seems to go. Today, onthe blog of the famous American military analyst William Arkin, an article has appeared in Washington Post, setting out the script of the strategic maneuvers of the US Armed Forces that began yesterday. According to the scenario, a certain country of “Slomony” is extremely annoyed by the fact that the old strategic ally “Yubble” broke off from it. Arkin believes that this is a direct hint of last year's orange revolution in Ukraine and the inadequate reaction of the Russian president to the events that took place then. The tension is growing, and as a result, Russian strategic bombers attack Alaska. A large -scale war begins. During the conflict, Americans use all their technical achievements, primarily in the field of computer science, disable Russian satellites and strategic forces. As a result, on the tenth day of the fighting, Slomonia asks for peace.

Arkin, one of the most violent critics of the Pentagon, rightly reproaches the American military planners of exaggeration. But, alas, one cannot but admit that their fears are not entirely groundless. From time to time, Russian political leaders suddenly begin to express views far from realistic. At the same time as talking about our nuclear power, we are constantly talking about some dark forces that want to weaken this power. Let us recall at least Putin’s speech after Beslan, in which he declared terrorists an instrument of these very forces. Moscow is more persistently protecting the most odious regimes like Syrian or Iranian. Finally, since 1999, she has been conducting maneuvers that imitate a nuclear blow to the United States.

If Arkin is right in his reading of the script of maneuvers, this means that the fears of Russia, which the American establishment no longer hides, were transmitted to those who are engaged in strategic planning. Putin is happy to portray himself as a superpower leader. As you can see, this game can turn into a return to the Cold War.
