The Supreme Court recognized the deprivation of Gennady Gudkov's powers as a Duma deputy as legal. The former deputy from A Just Russia was denied satisfaction of the complaint. The formal reason for deprivation of the mandate was, as stated by Duma representative in court Vladimir Ponevezhsky, the deputies’ conviction that Gudkov was engaged in business. At the same time, the court was not presented with the original protocol, from which, according to the Investigative Committee, it followed that Gudkov took part in the management of Kolomensky Builder LLC. Gudkov claimed that there was no meeting on the day on which the document was dated. The document bears the signatures of Gudkov and his wife. Gudkov's wife Marina told the court that she did not sign the document - she presented a foreign passport, from the stamps in which it followed that she was abroad that day. Ponevezhsky told RIA Novosti that everything was “adopted taking into account European standards, human and civil rights were not violated, constitutional rights were also respected.”
