Our beloved enemy

The Federation of American Scientists published a brochure of three researchers called "from counter -by to minimal deterrence." It proposes an innovative concept of deterrence of Russia from a nuclear attack. Scientists recommend aiming the strategic offensive forces of the United States not on our megacities and military facilities, as is usually planned, but at the 12 largest enterprises of metallurgy, processing and production of gas and oil. From the point of view of American physicists, this is supposedly more humane.

Such proposals caused violent protests and an indignant reaction in a number of analytical television programs like a “post -script”, printed publications were also noted. And this is completely justified. How is it, because these brainless American physicists encroached on our holy, on our everything - on the largest enterprises of Deripaska, Miller, Abramovich and others. And if you still think about how many of them in the board of directors of our senior officials ... No, even if it is better Americans beat large cities with a multimillion -dollar population. I wish you to figure out where it is planned to target Russian missiles. Is it really on New York, Washington, Los Angeles, San Francisco and other cities?

It is good that the US administration and the Pentagon of these humanists never listen and do in their own way. These unfortunate scientists of liberals are constantly calling for a sharp reduction in nuclear weapons reserves, to abandoning the programs and other acts of peacefulness, which does not fit into the official American strategy and politics.

True, if you carefully read the brochure of scientists, then we can assume that they are not quite brainless. They are just idealists - dreamers. Since this “blasphemous” change in the goals of a nuclear attack is accompanied by a proposal to reduce the strategic nuclear forces of Russia and the United States by 10 times compared to the current level. That is, if now in the USA there are actually about 3,500 nuclear ammunitions in the nuclear triad, and in Russia there are about 3,000, then there should be nothing to stay almost close to how much in the nuclear forces of France, Great Britain and China. Of course, neither the Americans, nor,, moreover, we can allow this. Because for us, as you know, the nuclear balance with the United States is the last sign of superpower, which you do not want to part with.

There are other aspects in the proposals of physicists that our untied critics and even some experts do not know or do not want to know or do not want to know. Physicists are not in vain about the departure from what they call in the heading of their brochure a counter -wheel. The fact is that, as the strategic offensive forces reduce, the possibilities of applying disarmers (they are called counter-urine) strokes are falling. Therefore, there are significantly more means for a response impact, which is the potential of nuclear deterrence. Including, the possibilities of overcoming any pro due to oversaturation of its informational and firing means are increased. And with a reduction in START to 1000 or less ammunition, with the rational structure of the nuclear triad, in which high -living ground and sea missile systems should be deployed, the first disarmering blow generally loses its effectiveness and does not even make sense to plan it. This is where the proposals of American physicists are based. Therefore, the intention of the presidents of Russia and the United States at a meeting in London to reduce their SVV until the end of this year to a level level established by the Moscow Treaty on the Reducing of the National Security and Defense Council from 2002 (1700-2200 ammunition), of course, is a step in the right direction. Another question is whether it will be possible to sign a new legally binding contract with the necessary control measures before the expiration of the START-1 agreement, that is, until December 5, taking into account the existing obstacles and loss of almost 20 years both by Russians and the Americans of the experience of negotiations on nuclear problems.

About the deeper contractions of nuclear weapons, such as the American scientists offer, and not only them, in the foreseeable perspective, it is unlikely that it makes sense to reason. Although the ideas of the “gang of four” (the so -called group, which includes two former Secretary of State J. Schulz and G. Kissinger, the former US defense myist, U. Perry and Senator S. Nunn) The movement towards the nuclear world is gradually supporting, but in the general understanding that it will take many decades and a completely different global security system.

In the meantime, all sorts of such proposals are a great occasion for frenzied criticism and inciting anti -Americanism. Moreover, this can be useful in case of deepening the economic crisis to mobilize the population. In such conditions, every time I want to quote a great satirist writer, who said that America is our best, beloved enemy. Because we know that he will never attack us, and this enemy also knows that we will not attack him. You can’t say better.
