Russia became a classic police state in which the policeman does not obey the law, but interprets it, as it pleases.
It is safe to assume that a decision will be made quite soon about the complete and final cancellation of the elections (to save money and because of the hostile environment), or about their complete non -alternativeness (such as a single block of communists and non -partisans). I also suspect that the elimination of the media that has not controlled by the state is a matter of time.
The cause of the coup was a radical change in the political course. The group, which is customary to associate with Vladimir Putin (not the fact that he personally continues to occupy the main place in it) does not consider it necessary to “seduce” citizens, fraudulently conquer their sympathy. Opportunities for political technological manipulations are exhausted. To remain in power and with feeders, it took undisguised violence. All according to the Strugatsky: “We are racking our heads here, trying in vain to squeeze the complex, contradictory, mysterious figure of the eagle of our don Raba on a par with Richelieu, Necker, Tokugava Iayas, Monk, and he turned out to be a small bully and fool! In the same way, there was no need for diplomacy. The coup, of course, significantly worsened the position of people with democratic views. They are significantly limited to the possibilities of expressing these views. As historical practice shows, a regime based exclusively on violence can exist for a long time. Numerical superiority is still behind the security forces. Even if most of the people is united by a rejection of this regime, this does not mean its immediate collapse. Belarusian events show - rulers can maintain power, relying on coarse power, even completely losing the trust of the people. However, on the other hand, the situation was fundamentally simplified. There was no need to communicate with all these manipulators serving the regime. If until recently, as an excuse for such communication, one could indicate the desire to find out in advance the plans of the authorities, now it is clear: these little people from the servants know nothing. The fact that they can "resolve" something, convey something reasonable to bossy ears is nothing more than an illusion. Why, one wonders, forgetting about disgust, meet with these representatives of Putin's human? Why ask Peskov questions when it is clear in advance what he will say. What is the point of participating in joint conferences with all this chantrape, which does not solve anything? To listen to the next portion of sophisms? In the same way, it is pointless to spend time analyzing the statements of representatives of shelter structures.
Obviously, the released time can be spent with greater benefit. For example, having seriously engaged in the enlightenment of fellow citizens ...
