Pros. The first expensive gangster action movie in the modern history of Russian cinema. "Mercedes" - so the six hundredth. Office buildings are like modern Moscow glass. Of course, by Hollywood standards, this is still a B-movie, but it doesn’t quite resemble primitive B-movies. Firstly, “24 Hours” keeps the viewer engaged not only with shootouts, but also with interesting information - about what technologies appear to be available now for total surveillance, murders at any distance using cell phones, etc.
It is also curious that – according to the authors – there is something like a “killers’ union”, from the secret center of which secret surveillance of everyone and everything is carried out. Previously, our viewers were only entertained with such informational tricks by blockbusters like “Mission”, which is “impossible”.
Secondly, the film has a lot of interesting characters. In general, it turns out that almost all the characters in the film are not bad people, they care about their families, etc. However, they constantly play complex games worse than chess against each other, try to deceive each other, set them up, kill each other and have no concept of duty or brotherhood towards rivals or companions.
Accordingly, the film can be perceived as a conceptual statement about modern Russian life, where (one must understand), starting from certain political and economic levels, gangsters are everything. And at the same time, everyone behaves recklessly, because they are driving away the obvious thought that well-being and life itself will collapse overnight, because someone someday will certainly “order” them.
Minuses. Any cinephile who, in addition to the desire to watch as many films as possible, would also dream of writing a script for such a “smart action movie” is also concerned with the need to provide money for the family. But the idea of such scenarios was born among nervous cinephiles about five years ago. One of the downsides is that the plot of the film is still somewhat “unscripted”. Misunderstandings could not be avoided. Experienced genre fighters from Hollywood never allow themselves to do this.
