Russia needs new elections

Statement of the Company "Memorial"

On December 4, the State Duma elections were held in Russia.

The coordinated work of observers revealed mass falsification during voting and voting. Citizens were convinced: deception and manipulations can be opposed.

The shameless falsification caused mass protests that Russia has not seen for many years.

The selfless heirs of Stolypin from the ruling party claim that they want to save Russia from great upheavals. But the distortion of the results of popular will is the most direct path to civilian trouble.

Inappropriate in these circumstances, a hurry with the convocation of the first meeting of the Duma only emphasizes the irresponsibility of power.

We call on parties, calling ourselves opposition, at the first meeting of the Duma to demand an immediate purpose of new elections.

It would be quite logical for this requirement to support United Russia. If her leaders really believe that they won honestly, then they should be interested in eliminating all doubts associated with the results of voting.

The Memorial welcomes peaceful mass rallies that have passed in Moscow and other cities - evidence of the awakening of civil activity of people.

The Memorial supports the holding of rallies on December 17, a few days before the first meeting of the Duma, and on December 24, when it will already be clear whether the deputies hear the voter voice.
