Remarkable reaction of the Russian Orthodox Church to the accident of Abbot Timofey from the Obydenskaya Church. The same abbot who talked so much about moral suffering from the Pussy Riot action, and who organized the christening of Kirkorov’s child in the genre of a corporate event in his church, and then the drunk crashed an expensive BMW with Maltese diplomatic license plates into two cars and refused to take a breathalyzer test. So, in the wake of this remarkable incident, the head of the Synodal Department for interaction with the Armed Forces and Law Enforcement Institutions, Archpriest Dimitry Smirnov, said the following: “If he were a plumber, then no one would talk about it, but since he is a priest, everyone immediately began to discuss it, bring the news to the top, use it in an information campaign against the Church. Well, we are no strangers to this. Although the Church had nothing to do with it, he was traveling as a private citizen. Anyone can get into an accident." If Timofey had been a plumber, he would not have driven a BMW with license plates, would not have baptized the Kirkorov children and would not have taught us how to live. However, let him be a private person. And how will a private citizen answer for drunk driving and using fake license plates - he’s not a Maltese diplomat in his free time from working as a priest, right?
