The organizers of the rally on Triumfalnaya Square on January 31, members of the Movement-31 initiative group, declare the danger of provocations from pro-Kremlin youth organizations. Their appeal states: “From reliable sources, we, the organizers of the rally on January 31, learned that activists of pro-Kremlin youth movements intend to commit provocative actions before the rally, during it, and after it ends, with the aim of disrupting the rally and provoking unrest, acting as if on behalf of its participants. We declare with full responsibility that we will do everything to ensure that the rally takes place without violating the law, and if unrest occurs, then the handlers of provocateurs from the authorities must be held accountable for them.” Named as curators are First Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration Vladislav Surkov, Head of Rosmolodezh Vasily Yakemenko, and leader of Young Russia Maxim Mishchenko.
The appeal was signed by the chairman of the Moscow Helsinki Group Lyudmila Alekseeva, a member of the Moscow Helsinki Group Valery Borshchev, the chairman of the Moscow branch of the Federation of Car Owners of Russia Sergei Kanaev, the president of the Institute of Human Rights Sergei Kovalev, the head of the movement “For Human Rights” Lev Ponomarev, the leader of the Movement in Defense of the Khimki Forest Evgenia Chirikova , coordinator of the Left Front Sergei Udaltsov.
“Young Russia” from the morning until five o’clock in the evening on January 31st holds the next Donor Day, which the organization organizes for some reason at the same time and in the same place where the opposition is holding a rally in defense of Article 31 of the Constitution. This time, the Kremlin people graciously agreed to share time and place with the organizers of the rally, which is being held by Lyudmila Alekseeva and her comrades, but will not give an inch or a moment to those who will come with Eduard Limonov. Let us remind you that a split occurred in the ranks of the organizers of the action on the 31st, and Limonov, who does not want to negotiate with the authorities, continues to be detained, while Alekseeva, who has compromised, is allowed to hold a rally in the pen. Let us remind you that already on January 30, searches and arrests took place in the Strategy-31 office. “Strategy-31” is an association of organizers of the event, which the authorities refused to approve; it includes mainly supporters of Eduard Limonov, at whose house a police car has been on duty since January 30 (we recall that on December 31 he was detained right at the exit from the entrance, after for which he was arrested for 15 days). Alekseeva’s supporters called themselves “Movement 31” to add to the confusion.
