After eight years of proceedings, the St. Petersburg City Court is finally due to announce a verdict in the case of the murder of Russian State Duma deputy Galina Starovoitova. Earlier, the state prosecutor asked to sentence the accused in this case, Vyacheslav Lelyavin, to 13 years and 4 months in prison, and Pavel Stekhnovsky to 4 years. But on September 22, the jury found only Lelyavin guilty. So today's sentence will only affect him. Previously, the state prosecutor asked to sentence him to 13 years in prison in a maximum security colony.
