And since I knew about this story, everything else-and the general searches of the opposition members, and something else-I perceived precisely in its context. In the sense that it was clear to me that at first there was a story with Sokolov, and then with searches.

I am in a very difficult situation, because Sokolov is my friend and an amazing guy. And the task of the “new” in this case, as you know, is not to expose the bloody regime. And make so that Sokolov can return to Russia. Safely.

So, Sergei Sokolov, deputy head of the new, wrote an article about the sentence to the participant of the gang of Tsapk Sergey Tsopovaz - 150 thousand rubles of a fine.

And the article did not like the head of SK Bastrykin so much that he invited Sergei Sokolov with him to Nalchik an alternate meeting, and the first part of the Merlesonian ballet took place there. Because Bastrykin first called Sokolov to the Presidium, and then showed it to all the Caucasians gathered in the hall (this is an obvious moment: the SK employees in the North Caucasus in a large part - Caucasians) and uttered some words. I do not want to reproduce specific formulations, but the meaning of the words spoken by the head of the UK during the Caucasians sitting in the hall came down to the fact that this journalist is an enemy.

After that, Sokolov left the hall and began to call about tickets to Moscow, but then they approached him and said: "We are instructed to deliver you home."

As far as I know, in the way from Vnukovo there are two cars, in one of which Sokolov was located, and in the other Bastrykin with security, we drove into the forest, and there Bastrykin separately invited Sokolov to the conversation. As I understand it, before leaving Nalchik, Bastrykin visited the commemoration of one of the employees; They remembered, as usual, like a man, and Bastrykin was in a frank state. A long monologue followed in the forest, the short part of which in the presentation of Muratov sounds like this: “You rudely threatened the life of my deputy. And they even successfully joked, noting that this is the case and you will lead. ” Here is such a field session of the Investigative Committee in the forest.

That, in fact, is all. In general terms.

What to do, we did not know. After that, Muratov called up with Markin, I think that in the UK, grabbed his head. In the sense that it was clear that the matter was not good.

Dmitry Muratov in this situation acted as the editor -in -chief and a real man. He took all the responsibility for himself. We, as you know, had no choice. And our goal, I repeat once again, do not expose the bloody regime. And do not retell exactly everything that was said. And to ensure that our colleague can return to the country and feel safe. But at the same time we have nowhere to retreat.

Why was the letter only on Wednesday? Because on Monday the number did not go out, the day off.

By the way, there is another detail in this story. Sergey Sokolov is not just a deputy head of the new and not just a journalist. This is a person who really is engaged in investigations. And he knows many in the Investigative Committee (hence, maybe Bastrykin’s sharp reaction: and you, Brutus!).

And Sergey Sokolov - it seems that I say this for the first time - it is the person who proved that Sergey Pavlyuchenkov is the organizer of the murder of Politkovskaya. This was supposed to be many (I was discussing this with Sokolov many times, “here, they say, what kind of money that Pavlyuchenkov did not return to Khadzhikurbanov, this is clearly the money for the murder of Politkovskaya”). But he proved, once again, he proved, and Sergey Sokolov handed the evidence to the investigation. The case is rare, usually a journalist cannot investigate the criminal region, not the powers, no matter how our brethren is puffed.

I personally think this is a coincidence. That the trip to the forest was connected with the general shaft of the reaction, and not with the specific circumstance that before this trip Pavlyuchenkov was released on the recognizance of a lower -off wizard. But I'm afraid that this coincidence will be used further.
