Ukraine did what we had to do for a long time, and this caused in Russia among liberal minds a sense of approval, mixed with envy. The Ukrainian court officially recognized Stalin and his six minions to the killers, guilty of death from the hunger of almost 4 million Ukrainians, and qualified it as genocide. I always thought that we needed to carry out a similar process. That evil of such a scale as Stalinism has no statute of limitations and cannot be left without legal conviction at the state level.

We discussed this issue with the audience on the air and came to the simple conclusion that people, regardless of the sentence of the Kyiv court, would not change their opinion about Stalin. Those who considered him a criminal will consider him a criminal. Those who believe that he won the war, accepted the country with Sohu, but left with an atomic bomb, will also not change their point of view. And there is the largest group of citizens, which, as all recent studies show, does not apply to Stalin at all. These people do not care about some court decision there, most likely, will not recognize.

Well, this is the right of every person to have one or another point of view or not to have any. But the state cannot afford to not have a point of view. It cannot occupy a mundane-extensive position on the issue of good and evil. But this is exactly the position of our state. And depending on the time, circumstances and conditions, it condemns, then “makes a discount”, noting that not everything was bad. Or completely calls to protect the story from falsifications and thereby actually covers the crimes of the past. But if our state officially and firmly condemned Stalinism, this would eventually affect the opinion of individual citizens. Because the presence of such an official position, legally enshrined, would make the appearance of history textbooks, in which the executioner is called a strong business executive. It would make it impossible to release idiotic films and books, which says that the prisoners of the Gulag ate fresh fruits and that in fact the executed were not millions, but hundreds of thousands - and therefore, the repressions were not so terrible. And when people have the opportunity to receive objective historical information and not to receive cannibalist, then the point of view is formed by human, and not the devil knows which one.

But at the same time, the decision of the Kyiv Court of Appeal, which recognized Stalin and his six other criminals, caused me contempt. Because it is a parody of justice. And the parody of justice is worse than the lack of justice. Because the decision of a planetary scale cannot be made by a district court. This should be, if not a special tribunal, then the Supreme Court. And can a consequence of such a case go for less than a year when completely penny things have been investigating longer? Is it possible to spend the court itself in two days?! Yes, such a tribunal should be shown live instead of “House-2”, and let it go for more than one month, but it will be a real process.

And I'm not talking about the obvious fact that the court in Kyiv could not go for more than two days - otherwise the decision would not have kept up with the first round of the presidential election. This was Yushchenko's main motive. The main thing and, I suspect, the only one. And in this he is no different from our leaders, for whom the meaning of restoring the monument blown up in Kutaisi is not in preserving the memory of the fallen, but to “click on the nose” of the regime unpleasant. Yushchenko is a parody of a democrat, which I have not doubted since the Maidan, and all the years of his reign simply confirmed this. And he spent a parody of the court and surpassed the great idea of ​​the condemnation of Stalinism.

He insisted precisely on charges of genocide. As if the destruction of 4 million is not terrible in itself. If we consider the Holodomor with a genocide, it turns out that Ukrainians were destroyed only because they are Ukrainians. So Hitler destroyed Jews and gypsies only because they are Jews and gypsies. And if you call the Holodomor, if you call genocide, then the genocide of the Soviet people, because millions of people died from hunger in Russia and Kazakhstan, and in other years and for other reasons, thousands and thousands of Soviet citizens of all nationalities died. And the real process over Stalinism would inevitably have to come to this conclusion. And Yushchenko arranged in the city court what Professor Preobrazhensky called the judgments of a cosmic scale and cosmic stupidity. It turned out a shame and disgusting. A parody of court and a parody of justice. So I think.
