The Ukrainian authorities responded to ((http://www.newsru.com/russia/17jan2006/flot.html statement)) the Russian Minister of Defense that, while guarding Russian facilities, our military has the right to open fire to kill. First Deputy Head of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry Vladimir Ogryzko promised to investigate the legality of the carrying of weapons by the Russian military on the territory of Ukraine. But already now, Ogryzko noted, it can be argued that the signs “territory of the Russian Ministry of Defense” at the Black Sea Fleet facilities are illegal, since “the entire territory where the Black Sea Fleet is temporarily located belongs to Ukraine.”
