The Investigative Committee under the Prosecutor's Office recognized the events on Manezhnaya Square on December 11 as mass riots, but a criminal case was opened under the safest part of the corresponding article 212 of the Criminal Code. It turns out that the mass riots at Manezhnaya were accompanied only by calls for disobedience to the police, mass riots and violence against citizens. But the violence itself (not to mention insubordination, which is soldered to others for nothing) seems to have never happened. The crowd did not attack defenseless boys who had successfully celebrated their birthday, and whom riot police had to hide under an ambulance. And, of course, no one, after leaving the square, beat up people in the subway (this probably had nothing to do with it at all, it didn’t happen in the square).
As Kommersant writes, the investigation considered that thanks to the competent actions of the police, the riot participants were unable to implement their plans and only called for them. There may have been violence, but, according to the investigation, it was not organized, but only isolated facts of attacks - random, apparently. The majority, the newspaper writes, face fines and 15-day arrests under the Code of Administrative Offences.
As for the actions of those who investigated the murder of Yegor Sviridov in the fight on December 6 and released all the participants in the fight, except for the suspect directly in the murder of Aslan Cherkesov, the investigation also treated them mildly. A criminal case was initiated under Article 293 Part 1 - “Negligence”, and the maximum punishment for it involves correctional labor for a period of no more than a year or arrest for three months.
In general, they scolded everyone again, winked at everyone - continue to violate.
