Gazprom offered Belarus to buy Russian gas at $200 per thousand cubic meters. The fight for Belgaz continues, with increasingly aggressive methods; before it was about 140 dollars per cubic meter, now it’s as much as 200. But the fight is with a political overtone: the price change was a response to a confidential letter from Prime Minister of Belarus Sergei Sidorsky to Mikhail Fradkov. In the letter, Sidorsky hinted that if you raise prices like this, then there will never be a union state.
