About 20 young people were forcibly detained in the military registration and enlistment office of the Nizhny Novgorod region. As NEWSru.com reports with reference to the chairman of the local Committee of Soldiers' Mothers Natalya Zhukova, some young people were taken to the military registration and enlistment office by the police, some came on their own, but everyone was informed that they were draft dodgers, and in one day they underwent a medical examination without listening to any health complaints. The young people spent the night at a distribution point in Dzerzhinsk, after which they were again taken to the Nizhny Novgorod military registration and enlistment office, held a draft board and began preparing documents to be sent to the army on the same day. However, some have never received a summons. The mother of one of the conscripts, Maxim Kolotilov, told the Committee of Soldiers' Mothers about this. It should be added that during the medical examination no one was tested, no one had a fluorography or cardiogram. As a result of the intervention of human rights activists, the young people were released literally at the last moment. At the same time, the head of the conscription department assured that all the young people were draft dodgers and had to be taken from home to the military registration and enlistment office by the police (which in itself is illegal). It is important to note that at least three days must pass between receiving the summons and being sent to the army, and also that a conscript who disagrees with the decision of the draft commission has the right to appeal it legally.
