Today, the Abkhaz Parliament appealed to the President of Russia and the Federal Assembly with a request to recognize the independence of Abkhazia and establish associated relations with Russia. The document speaks of the right of the Abkhaz people to sovereignty and eternal friendship with Russia. In a situation where Russian-Georgian hysteria is in full swing, thousands of Georgian citizens are being expelled from Russia, and the president’s statements smack of full-blown nationalism, everyone is worried about the questions “what’s next?” and “where’s worse?” Apparently, in Abkhazia they know where.
