Deputies of Transnistria appealed to their colleagues from Russia, Ukraine and Belarus with a request to recognize the independence of the self-proclaimed republic. Parliamentarians mainly appeal to the results of the referendum, during which 97% of citizens voted for independence and joining the Russian Federation. But the main task ahead is to achieve a positive decision from the entire world community. Therefore, having thoroughly studied international law, the deputies supported the appeal with a reference to the UN Charter, which enshrines the right of nations to self-determination.
