LiveJournal users have begun collecting signatures for another open letter from parents against the clericalization of Russian education. Parents consider the introduction of the “Fundamentals of Orthodox Culture” in schools to be contrary to Russian legislation and demand that politicians “adopt such amendments to the law “On Education” that would exclude clericalization and ideologization of the school.” Parents are asking RAS experts and Ministry of Education officials to “not support authors who use school textbooks for religious propaganda.” They demand that deputies exclude the regional component from the educational standard, which, in their opinion, “the Russian Orthodox Church, with the support of regional authorities, is using as a loophole to subject our children to ideological indoctrination.”
It is interesting that with this demand, parents turn to the authorities, which are much more actively subjecting “our children” - and not only “ours”, but also “locals”, “coming” and so on. and so on. - ideological indoctrination. Obviously, the actions of the authorities in this direction are quite satisfactory for parents who calmly send their children to the capital to jump over beer in the squares or try on their panties on Seliger. It turns out that they are ready to accept any ideology from the hands of the authorities. Moreover, they are ready to give up freedom - because what is the regional component if not freedom for the regions? - just so that “the enemy doesn’t get through.”
