The Basmanny Court of Moscow authorized the arrest of businessman Maxim Luzyanin, whom investigators believe is suspected of organizing riots on Bolotnaya Square on May 6 and violence against police officers. Luzyanin is a co-owner of a restaurant in the Moscow region, and was previously convicted of extortion. He is arrested until July 6. Later, Judge Olga Solopova granted the investigation's request against another suspect, unemployed Andrei Barabanov. He went on a hunger strike in protest.

A day earlier, the same court placed another suspect under house arrest in one of the cases in connection with the riots on Bolotnaya. This is 18-year-old civil activist Alexandra Dukhanina. The investigation believes that she threw stones at the riot police and also called for mass riots. The investigation suspects Barabanov and Luzyanin that, in addition to actually organizing the riots, they beat and kicked the riot police and even strangled them.
