Moscow Mayor Yuri Luzhkov does not like criticism, but he likes to sue critics. On April 28, the Savelovsky Court of Moscow satisfied his claim against the leader of the LDPR, Vladimir Zhirinovsky, who accused the Moscow government and the mayor himself of corruption in the presence of President Dmitry Medvedev himself (this was during the latter’s meeting with the leaders of parliamentary parties). Luzhkov also wanted to sue VGTRK, which broadcast Zhirinovsky’s speech, demanding a refutation of the vice speaker’s statements. The leader of the LDPR called the government the Moscow mafia and said that all the corruption that is slowing down the entire country is connected with one person - the mayor of the city. These statements were shown in the programs “Vesti v Saturday” and “Vesti Nedeli” on October 24 and 25.

Let us recall that not so long ago Zhirinovsky again criticized Luzhkov, this time in the presence of Prime Minister Vladimir Putin. The LDPR leader called on the head of government to fire the Moscow mayor and handed Putin a folder of incriminating evidence on Luzhkov. The vice speaker accused the mayor of handing over “the fattest pieces” to foreign citizens, thus “preparing his own escape routes.”
