"Doctrine Gerasimova" - a new option

The chief of the General Staff Valery Gerasimov made a traditional speech at the annual session of the Academy of Sciences. And once again called a sensation. He told the listeners that the Pentagon began to develop a new strategy for conducting military operations under the code name "Trojan Horse". It consists no more than in the intention of the adversaries “actively use the protest potential of the fifth column” to destabilize the situation while striking with high -precision weapons on the most important objects. ” However, on an enemy insidious plan - to organize a “color revolution” and immediately fire “tomahaws” - we always have a mirror answer. “I would like to note that the Russian Federation is ready to prevent any of these strategies. In recent years, military scientists, together with the General Staff, have developed conceptual approaches to neutralize aggressive actions of probable opponents, ”Gerasimov assured. According to him, the basis of the response of the Russian Federation is the “active defense strategy”, which, taking into account the defensive nature of the Russian military doctrine, provides for a set of measures to proactively neutralizing threats to state security.

If you consider this seriously, then it should be noted: the chief of the “brain of the army” operates with data that has only indirect attitude to reality. Speaking at the Brucking Institute last month, the chief of staff of the US Air Force, General David Goldfain, said that American strategists are now working on a concept that involves the hidden penetration of the US military into the enemy’s territory at the same time by land, sea and air. The leading role in this strategy is given to fifth generation fighters F-35, equipped with high-precision weapons. “Ultimately, this is a network war in real time, where not only aircraft or submarines, but the ground forces should be invisible,” Goldfain explained. At the same time, as far as one can understand, we are talking about a joint operation of all types of armed forces in the strategic rear of the enemy. The appearance of the F-35, according to the Goldfain, should be a containment factor. Having fixed the appearance of these aircraft near its borders, the potential aggressor must understand that the forces of the Ground Forces and the US Navy are already on its territory. At the same time, the general, of course, did not say anything about the use of “protest potential”. This subordinates Gerasimov simply came up with.

And it was no coincidence that they came up with. The last ten years of the Russian military have been fighting a problem in principle in principle: how to “legalize” the possibility of using the armed forces against their own people. In the mid-2000s, it was precisely the president of the Academy of Military Sciences Makhmut Gareev, known for the unique ability to hold his nose in the wind, suddenly began to talk about the need to find a military response to non-military threats. The topic was developed after the Kyiv Maidan, the annexation of Crimea and the beginning of a secret war in the Donbass. The main phobia of the Kremlin - the fear of the so -called "color revolutions" - was doomed to find a military dimension. Not only did Russian leaders consider any attempt to get rid of authoritarian rulers the result of conspiracies inspired by Western intelligence services. “Color” revolutions are increasingly gaining the form of armed struggle, developed according to the rules of military art, while all available tools are involved, ”Minister of Defense Sergei Shoigu stated in his speech at the international conference in 2014.

An attempt to declare popular uprisings with a new form of military operations is also contained in the latest edition of the military doctrine signed by the head of state at the end of 2014. So in the section “The Main Inner Military Dangers”, “Activities on the Information impact on the population, primarily on young citizens of the country, aimed at undermining historical, spiritual and patriotic traditions in the field of protection of the Fatherland”, is noted. And describing the characteristic features of modern military conflicts, the authors of the doctrine indicated: this is “the complex use of military force, political, economic, information and other non -military measures realized with the widespread use of the protest potential of the population and the forces of special operations.” The latter is especially remarkable. The protest potential of the population is put on one board with the actions of the special forces of the enemy state. That is, citizens who say that they do not like something in their country, are equal to enemy saboteurs!

Not this, the Kremlin adopted the so -called "Gerasimov doctrine." About a year before the Ukrainian crisis, an article was published in the “Military Industrial Courier” based on the speech of the chief of the General Staff, Valery Gerasimov in the same Academy of Military Sciences. In it, the military leader spoke extensively about the war of the new generation. Which, of course, is not going to lead Russia, but a malicious West. Gerasimov wrote: “In the XXI century, a tendency to erase the differences between the state of war and the world is traced. The wars are no longer announced, but, having begun, they are not going on the usual template. The role of non -military methods has increased in achieving political and strategic goals, which, in some cases, have significantly exceeded the power of weapons in some cases. ” Thus, the line between the war and the world is erased. If you take into account the situation of Gerasimov that “the emphasis of the methods used is shifted towards the widespread use of political, economic, information, humanitarian and other non-person measures”, then the scope of secret and information psychological operations has expanded to the size of the entire foreign policy. At the same time, Russia immediately began to act in Ukraine by the methods that it ascribes to the West. What turned out to be unprecedented by foreign policy failures. Russia is accused today of interfering in the elections in the USA and other countries, poisoning, and hacker attacks. In the end, the implementation of the “Gerasimov doctrine” led to the international isolation of the Kremlin.

And now there is a new attempt to link the “military” and “non -person” methods. After all, if the enemy has reached the coordination of protests with air strikes, then the General Staff is supposed to develop “opposition plans”, which, whatever one may say, turn into operational plans to use troops against the people on the streets of Russian cities. Shoigu ordered the development of these “opposition plans” back in 2014. The task was sequentially set first before the General Staff, then to the Academy of the General Staff, then to the Academy of Military Sciences. But the matter, it seems, did not move. Apparently, the Russian officers decided not to take a sin to their souls and tried to lower bossal initiatives on the brakes. It is possible that now they are not very bashful, those who, for the sake of justification, come up with a non -existent strategy "Trojan Horse" ...
