The criminal case against the former mayor of the city of Pyatigorsk Igor Tarasov, who committed an accident that led to the death of five people, was dropped immediately after the start of the process. On Monday, at a court hearing, it was announced that “the case was dismissed pending reconciliation of the parties.” On August 23, 2006, at about 2 a.m., Tarasov, driving a Toyota Land Cruiser, violated traffic rules and collided with a VAZ-2109 car. As a result, the driver and two passengers died, but two were still alive. But Tarasov fled the scene and didn’t even call an ambulance.
