Greek archaeologists, who, under the leadership of Katerina Peristeri (Katerina Peristeri), are excavated by the tomb in ancient amphipol, new finds reported .
Under the floor of the third camera, in which a magnificent mosaic picture with Aid, Hermes and Persephone was previously discovered, archaeologists found a stone sarcophagus with a skeleton. There were also nails that once fastened the boards of a wooden coffin, as well as fragments of bone and glass jewelry.
According to Katerina Peristeri, the skeleton belongs to an adult man. This somewhat narrows the circle of applicants for the role of the owner of the tomb. Previously, hypotheses were put forward that the mother of Alexander the Macedonian Olympics or his wife Roxanne could be buried in it. The names of the associates of Alexander of Macedon were also called: Antigon of one -eyed, Nearnha and Laomedon, son of Larikh. The last two were the inhabitants of Ampipol. It should be noted that the grand dimensions of the tomb indicate the extremely high status of the buried, which Laomedon hardly possessed.
