Glimpses of reason

While negotiations on the Kuril Islands, a painful issue for Russia, have once again reached a dead end and the President of the Russian Federation is trying to somehow resolve this problem in Shanghai, our beloved deputies have put forward their own version of solving the problem. They came up with a new memorable date and propose to celebrate “Victory Day over Militarist Japan” on September 2 - fortunately, the project was “cancelled.” Such a subtle diplomatic move was invented by the State Duma initiative group, which includes, among other things, Vice Speaker Vladimir Pekhtin and head of the Defense Committee Viktor Zavarzin.
