On July 1, amendments to the Code of Administrative Offenses came into force, significantly tightening penalties for a number of traffic violations. This tightening was primarily reflected in a sharp increase in fines. Now, for a number of violations related to improper parking of a car, car owners in both capitals will be forced to pay up to three thousand rubles (twice the national average). Meanwhile, experts note that increased pressure on unscrupulous vehicle owners who abandon their cars anywhere should be accompanied by the massive construction of parking lots. But this is just not happening.

That is, in this case we can say that the tightening of legislation is happening in the interests of one social group - traffic police officers, for whom the latest draconian initiatives of the authorities are nothing more than a hidden salary increase.
