The Bow Street Magistrate's Court, having considered all the materials presented by the Russian side and heard defense witnesses, decided to refuse the Russian Prosecutor General's Office to extradite Temerko. According to the judge, the refusal to extradite is due to Articles 81 and 87 of the British Extradition Act 2003. According to these articles, the court may refuse to extradite a person if his persecution is due to political motives and he may be subjected to an unfair trial for his political beliefs.
