Faith is always stronger than any fact. Let you tell the boy that he is actually a girl. The boy may laugh in response or be offended, but in any case he will not believe you. In the novel by Jan Banks, the main character recognizes at the end of the book that he is really not a hero at all, but the main character. So imagine now a situation in which you are already a girl who considers himself a boy, tell the truth about her field. What will be the reaction of the girl?
Yes, exactly the same as that of the boy from the first example - I do not perceive and do not believe. And if a doctor will inform the truth to such a girl? Then a sense of shock will add to the above feelings. But not at all from the spectacle of the position of things that revealed before the eyes, but from a sense of indecency of what is happening, out of a sense of surprise on the doctor, who, it would seem, is to understand obvious things, and instead he carries complete nonsense.
The Munich performance of Putin, who openly called the girl a girl, caused Europe to feel the experiences similar to the above. The main political journal of Germany, Der Spiegel, indicatively reacted to the heading "Putin shocking Europeans." “It is incomprehensible”, “game by muscles”, “claims to world domination”, “illogical” - all these are typical comments of German politicians.
Just as the Japanese are immune to the sound of "l", so Putin's words passed by Western listeners. "Who might like the advance of someone else's military alliance on their borders?" - the Russian president asked the audience. "And who may not like the approach of Light of Freedom and Democracy to them? - easily read on the faces of those present in the hall. - only bad, dark personalities."
Once again, the difference between the political coordinates of Russia and the West, as well as the place of Russia in Western coordinates, was clearly manifested. A reproach for violated NATO non -expanding obligations hardly forced his responsible comrades to feel remorse or at least think. “The countries that we accepted ourselves wanted it,” there was a reaction of NATO representatives. The fact that in this situation would not hurt to ask the opinion of Russia, nobody in the West, of course, had never occurred.
It was possible to ask at least for decency: Russia in the early or in the 90s would hardly have been against; I would be comforted with a “mirror” or “beads”, yes, she agreed. But I did not guess the West to ask.
The mistake of German television, which incorrectly retelling one of Putin’s key phrases, turned out to be indicative. The one, if you remember, said: "Democracy is, as you know, the power of the majority, taking into account the interests and opinions of the minority." The Germans translated this way: "Democracy is a consideration of the interests and opinions of the minority." Either they did not hear the sound of “l”, or translated correctly, but decided that the Russian president agreed and wanted to say exactly as they translated. For them, Putin is a representative of an insulted minority offended by the West and poured his grievances in Munich. Putin, who performs along with China, India, Brazil and other non -Western countries on behalf of the majority, is impossible, unusable.
If in the democratic system power should belong to the majority, then we should always be this majority - the principle that has long and well -learned in the West, introduced there in the category of axioms, statements accepted without evidence. "When you are someone, Petka, this is erotica, and when someone you are the most pornography." Most are us, and the point. Why? Yes, because the word "majority" comes from the word "big", large and strong.
Russia's response to such axiomatics can be "asymmetric", but it should be. It is important not to be mistaken: it will not be possible to convince the West by logic and verbal arguments.
