The Ukrainian political news of this winter is most reminiscent of the scenario blanks of the criminal thriller: the characters and performers are understandable and spelled out in general terms, the plot with its “key episodes” is set, moreover, these “key episodes” will enter the textbooks of the latest history of Ukraine soon or later, and few doubts this today.
So, the main events of the news tapes were two custom -made murders more than a year ago. The first question of any detective "Sui Prodest?" In various announcements and with different intonations, it sounds today from the lips of Kyiv journalists and political scientists. Actually, it is important not even who was beneficial to the murder of the former leader of the Donetsk clan Yevgeny Shcherban or journalist George Gongadze, and, accordingly, who is the customer. It is much more interesting to understand who right now it was necessary to again get into the light of God's bloody showdowns of the 90s and the scandals of the Kuchmage era.
With the first murder, everything seemed obviously. The current ruling clan is easiest and easiest to blame for the long -standing reprisal of the then competitors in gas and political business - the so -called "Dnepropetrovsk": the owner of the EES Yulia Tymoshenko and her cartridge ex-Prime Minister Pavel Lazarenko. The real goal is a life sentence for Yulia Tymoshenko, and exclusively for this, the case closed almost 10 years ago rises, and new witnesses (dubious) and new testimonies (even more dubious) appear in it. Fans of simple psychopathological explanations unanimously speak of paranoia of the Ukrainian president, his “fixation” in Tymoshenko, on the idea of a life sentence and his own life presidency. The idea is stupid and simple, but who said that Yanukovych is a man of complex ideas? Most likely, “psychopathologists” are right, and those who are now called the “family” in Ukraine seriously think that the main obstacle to the second term of Yanukovych and the unlimited extension of today's status quo is located in the colony near Kharkov. Moreover, the majority of “professional observers” agree that Tymoshenko’s life sentence and the life rule of the “family” are mirror ideas. Both that, and another is precisely what is the “term”, i.e. A certain term, a period of time having a beginning and end. It is worth the "family" to lose power, and the circumstances of the Kachanovsky prisoner will radically change. The latest history of Ukraine teaches us that exactly this will happen - the clans here do not stay in power of more than one presidential term. The only exception is Leonid Kuchma. And here it makes sense to recall the second case - the murder of journalist George Gongadze, from which, in fact, Kuchmagate began.
Last week, the trial of the executor of that murder ended in Kyiv-the ex-generation “outdoor” Alexei Pukach. By the way, the Pukach, by the way, received a life sentence, which, in his case, seemed to be not obvious: he was counting on some concessions to “cooperation with the investigation”. This case has its own nuances. Say, an amazing story about how the General of the Ministry of Internal Affairs imagined himself as a fighter of spies, and journalist Gongadze - a participant in the "conspiracy about the change of power." It seems that this was a new idea that appeared from some very fresh news stories. Another thing is characteristic: in this matter, as in the time in the case of the murder of Shcherban, they limited themselves to the "performers." Bye. Only the names of Pukach and his immediate boss, the late Minister of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Yuri Kravchenko (the very one who killed himself with the second control shot in the winter of 2005) remained in the verdict. And only after the sentence in his last word Pukach, suddenly forgetting the story of the Georgian spies, ordered to ask about “motives and intent” with Kuchma and Litvin (the ex-speaker of the Verkhovna Rada was at one time the head of the administration of President Kuchma, it was he who was considered the inspirer of the bloody history in the Tarashchansky forest). And on January 31, the US Embassy in Kyiv spread the text of the statement of the American government, which expresses the hope that "the Ukrainian authorities will continue to engage in this case in order to attract those who ordered the abduction and murder of George Gongadze." In other words, the question of customers remains open, but the Ukrainian authorities are now not interested in Litvin. As for Leonid Kuchma, they are increasingly recalling the business of this “family”, about Viktor Pinchuk and his assets. Perhaps the last words of Pukach were an impromptu, and you should not understand them at all as “Pinchuk’s warning”, although conspiracy theological Ukrainian media is already developing this rich theme. The trick of this whole criminal story is just in the “Comrade of the 90s”. Today's glamorous patrons and philanthropists were reminded of where they come from. And where the current Ukrainian authorities come from.
