Over the past 4 years, the number of holiday non-working days in Russia has increased from 10 to 12. The head of the State Duma Committee on Labor and Social Policy, Andrei Isaev, proposed to “freeze for a while” the process of rewriting holidays and concentrate on increasing the number of memorable dates that will remain working days. In particular, he considers the date October 17, the day of the introduction of the manifesto, which for the first time established elections to the State Duma and legalized trade unions and political parties in Russia, to be unfairly forgotten.
