Left Front activist Sergei Udaltsov was detained after a rally at the Central Election Commission on August 29. During the picket, participants protested against violations of citizens' voting rights. After the event, six participants were detained, including Udaltsov, who applied for the event. The official reason for Udaltsov’s detention was that the application indicated a maximum number of participants - 10 people, while at least 30 took part in the picket. Meanwhile, there are suggestions that they once again want to prevent Udaltsov from coming to an important opposition event - 31 In August, another action should take place on Triumfalnaya Square within the framework of “Strategy-31”. Udaltsov is accused not only of violating the established procedure for organizing or conducting picketing, but also of disobeying a lawful order of a police officer, and under the second article he is subject to administrative arrest for up to 15 days. It seems that none of the oppositionists like to be imprisoned for 15 days as much as Udaltsov. The last time he received 15 days (later the period was mercifully reduced to 14 days) after the action on July 31 and was unable to take part in the Day of Wrath on August 12.
