 In the Kremlin Counting
"Do you support the discrimination of Jews?" "Do you advocate that a swastika will appear on the coat of arms and flag of the Russian Federation?" “Do you approve of the idea to return to the practice of torture during the preliminary investigation?” Perhaps I am an optimist. But I dare to assume that most citizens of our country would be indignant when they saw these questions in the questionnaires of sociologists, and would not answer them. Because the proposed alternative is actually not such - the society for the most part has long and unambiguously determined on these issues. Raising them once again, we, as it were, questioned the fundamental principles of the existence of a modern civilized person. We insult the feelings of this person and, in fact, automatically discard him to a lower stage of development.
So let's be aware that any appeal to our citizens with a proposal to express their attitude to the possible third term by Vladimir Putin is no different from the above examples. Moreover, questions of this kind should be recognized as provocative, contradicting the current constitution, and therefore illegal.
I foresee the objections of opponents - is it possible to ignore the will of citizens? It is clear that today most residents of Russia clearly advocate the extension of the powers of the current president. Thus, the constitution is conflicting with the fundamental democratic principle. What is more important to us: the will of the people or a set of laws? For me, the answer to this question is obvious: in our specific circumstances - undoubtedly, a set of laws.
I can easily imagine a society that, after massive propaganda processing, agrees to return to the Stone Age. If for several years the leading television channels will describe the charms of prehistoric life with its simple and understandable primitive way, simultaneously describing the horrors of civilization that created the deadly weapons of mass destruction and generating global technological disasters is very likely that most people, in the end, agree to abandon this civilization.
Today's rating of Vladimir Putin (polls “Levada Center” show that 59% of Russians are ready to leave it for the third term) is a classic example of the so -called totalitarian rating. That is why do not be surprised that in less than a year it grew by 15%. Putin's rating was raised in non -freedom, when the vast majority of the main media are reproduced from sources of information to propaganda sources. Moreover, propaganda to one -sided, narrowly imprisoned under the interests of the ruling clan. Such propaganda against the backdrop of a constantly tightening domestic political situation infects the society of bacilli of indifference, unbelief in its own strength, fear of the future, persistent reluctance of any changes. After some time, such a society ceases to be adequate, loses its internal rod, loses its ability to modernize, its civilian institutions are marginalized and degraded.
So what reflect the elections, referendums or polls of public opinion in a country subject to a terrible ailment? Let the most unbiased and most honest? With hundreds of international observers? .. And they do not reflect anything, except for this destructive state of society. In other words, any form of appeal to public opinion can be recognized as deserving only in a free country where all the main democratic institutions are preserved and functioning. In any other case, these are a farce, a substitution of concepts and another tool for suppressing civil self -awareness.
This is the nature of the rating of Vladimir Putin. So let's not relate to him as a factor, on which we rely in the most important issues - the future of our country, the future of our children. Let's take the rating of Vladimir Putin as a diagnosis of a severe illness and try to find treatment for treatment.
