To squeeze your hand to whom?
In his “letter to the editorial” “Hedgehog” ”, about my column“ Price of chain talent ”Vladimir Dvorkin squealed so many absurdities that it was somehow embarrassing to challenge them. And is it worth it to waste time proving the well -known? Mikhail Koltsov was both the favorite of Stalin, and his confidant, and the clever performer of his plans. Confirmation of this is a mass, and only that one does not know who does not want to know.
Dvorkin is not alien to sarcasm. He writes: “To such“ favorites ”, according to Vladimir Nadein, Ilya Erenburg, and also to write insulting Philippics, should also be ranked about him. At the same time, to forget '' years, people, life '', a book that for many people not only in the USSR has become a real discovery. "
The memoirs of Ehrenburg “People, Years, Life” are now firmly forgotten, and the “Logic of Vladimir Nadein” has nothing to do with it. Have they become a discovery at one time? Of course. As in a deaf prison, even a clock of yesterday’s newspaper serves as a sensation, which the prisoners later discuss for a long time and with heat, so the memoirs “have become a discovery” only because Soviet people lived for decades in pitch darkness of total propaganda.
Today's simple evidence that Erenburg enjoyed the special patronage of Stalin will open to today's reader, who risked to plunge into the boredom and half -truth of these carefully sifted memories. And if it is quite simple - he was both a favorite and an influential agent of Soviet special services. With specialization in the hopping of the "progressive" Western intelligentsia.
Although Koltsov and Ehrenburg were continuously wheeling around the world, the main theater, at which they played the prescribed roles, was our country. Both were fertile, and with each of their opus they drove an uncomplicated thought into our heads: although it was good, but bad. And here, although bad, but good.
The world struggle for the world, in which before the Second World War, both of our heroes appeared, and after the war, Ehrenburg escaped into indisputable leaders, was not only a rotten propaganda show, but also a grandiose financial scam. Huge money of a beggar, starving country was spent on congresses, travel, hotels, salary, awards and secretaries. A narrow group of international schemes used all this uncontrollably. And although the important foreign Zits-chairman was always at the head of the council, it was Ilya Ehrenburg, the true manager of the “movement”, up to the death of Stalin.
I leave aside the question of literary and visual talents. For me, the prose of Ehrenburg resembles a machine translation from some foreign language. Koltsov’s syllable is much more lively and more natural, in places through intense anger, true wit appears. But the erudition of both is undeniable, both are truly intellectual. Ehrenburg is a gifted poet, a connoisseur of contemporary art, esthete.
“I would not at all write this letter to the editor,” Vladimir Dvorkin admits at the end, “if Vladimir Nadein had not piled up, as he writes,“ on the path ”of his beloved Stalinist feuilletonist such as Arkady Mamontov. It became a shame for Koltsov. You can not compare talent with ambitious serial. If Mikhail Koltsov was alive, he would gratefully shook his hand. Unlike Mamontov, who has become non -browned. ”
It, of course, is a matter of taste. How is it in an old song, "Which of them is more desirable, to squeeze a hand to whom?"
But I would not disturb this text with the Hedgehog, if I had a respected Vladimir Dvorkin, did not elevate the terrible focus on Arkady Mamontov, and also did not distort the term “non -browning” itself beyond recognition.
In the indicated memoirs, Ehrenburg calls Koltsov "unbearably smart." Other evidence of contemporaries confirm this characteristic. But Erenburg himself did not offend either his mind or insight. What I, with all my humanism, cannot say about Mamontov’s colleague. Perhaps he pretends to be amazing skill. But hardly. Then there is one of the two. Or he is a world -class actor who is not so realized by Smoktunovsky. Or a large, but standard ostrich from the VGTRK farm: there is a lot of meat, but the flight is low.
I love all animals. I would love to shook the paw of an ostrich and even kiss it on the crest, if it allows. The ostrich is not to blame that he is. It has its own special. Yes, and Arkady Mamontov, I am sure, at least someone like it.
If I suddenly find out that Mamontov simply does not know what he is doing, I will not be surprised at all. Perhaps, in his gray, according to the evaluative judgment of Vladimir Dvorkin, to cheat, to grate the facts, slander and head - equivalent to the valiant service of the Motherland. Do you think no? Then you just can’t imagine what marvelous chemical processes occur in the brain of storks.
This condescension is not acceptable in relation to Erenburg, Koltsov, and to Pozner, Ernst, Dobrodeev and the good dozen of their famous colleagues. Entire publications are fed by flattering to order. There is a thin, like Chopin's sketch. There is fat, like Ukrainian lard. The goods are needed. Without impurities of dyes, artificial additives and conscience.
These people knew before and now know what they were doing. They go to business with a clear understanding of where they lied, how they dissected and dumped truthful information, which worked out the models of their voice achieved that millions of simple -minded citizens believe their custom -made Muhlet. Clever men, talents, beams of fate, they firmly know who, how much and what they pay for them.
Having become a famous regime, the abomination of which they realize better than anyone else, they can finally afford to wiped a fluffy tail noble. They will write memoirs in which they seem to repent. ("I was so naive!" - here and there he repeated Erenburg in his memoirs.) They will perform with a farewell revealing speech. In a word, they will come up with something like that.
“The genius does not fulfill dog orders,” one of the heroes of Solzhenitsyn’s most famous story said about Eisenstein. When I read it half a century ago, I even jumped up: how can this be about the great director. And thinking, he agreed: the demand is more from talent. And if the talent is right, then it will do without my handshake.
Well, how Vladimir Dvorkin decides - here is free will.
