If the specialists of the Russian Flight Management Center (TsUP) will not be able to take control of the Progress M-27M cargo ship, it will be ahead of schedule from the orbit. It is reported by Interfax with reference to a source in the Central Department Store.
“If you can’t take the ship for management, then it may be decided to start preparing to ensure as it is safe as possible from its orbit,” the agency’s interlocutor noted.
He added that previous attempts to stop the rotation of the ship around its axis did not give a result.
The cargo apparatus started on April 28 from the Baikonur cosmodrome using the Soyuz-2.1A launch vehicle. He had to deliver fuel, oxygen, equipment for scientific experiments to the ISS, food and other cargoes. However, the launch vehicle brought the “progress” to a higher orbit than was necessary.
TsUP specialists decided to carry the “truck” from the ISS within two days .
At the same time, they assured that the ISS has a sufficient supply of water, oxygen and food for the coming months.
“The ISS has everything necessary for the activities of the crew and the functioning of the station ... Therefore, even if the April“ progress ”will not be able to join, nothing critical will happen,” said one of the interlocutors of the agency in the center.
