A Sharia court in the city of Lucknow in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh sentenced a Danish cartoonist to death for insulting the Prophet Muhammad. The decision comes days after the state's Hajj and Religious Minorities Minister announced an $11.5 million bounty on the cartoonist's head. And the other day a massive protest march took place in Lucknow demanding an end to contacts with Denmark and the cancellation of the visit of US President George W. Bush, accompanied by the burning of the Danish flag and a doll symbolizing the US President.
