They needed it publicly, in front of the press, specifically to show that they didn’t give a damn about anyone - sign off, they say. If we need to detain a person who is involved in ecology, we will detain him.

They couldn't ask me more than one question about the attack on the administration because I don't know anything about it. Then they began to ask me about the Khimki forest. After this summer, we find ourselves witnessing an environmental disaster. People wear masks, they can’t breathe. Let me remind you that we are currently surrounded by a ring of forests. We are fighting not to perish completely. Today we are meeting resistance. There are alternative options, but they are not listening to us. I believe that the authorities should now think about what they are doing. We are fighting for the route to bypass the forest in order to preserve for us that piece that will purify the air for us. This is not a whim, it's a health issue. But today the person who is doing this is being dragged away by ten riot police. This whole circus is being done to prevent me from maintaining the health of Muscovites. We need to review our forest protection legislation and understand that the importance of forests now is different than before this summer.
