Don't lose your hand

The "Military Glory" monument was erected in 1886. When creating it, the barrels of 128 captured guns, obtained during the Russian-Turkish war of 1877-1878, were used. In 1929, by decision of the Leningrad City Council, the monument was dismantled. In the early 1990s, they decided to restore it; the main artist of St. Petersburg, Georgy Sheremetyev, became the architect of the project. And Tsereteli made only the bronze figure of the Goddess of Victory, which crowns the column, but at his own expense. The newly created column was inaugurated on October 1, 2005. And now the reward has arrived.
