Pussy Riot member Maria Alyokhina, who is being transferred from the Bereznyaki correctional colony, was beaten by guards. As Gazeta.Ru reports with reference to a Twitter post by the Voina art group, this happened in the Solikamsk pre-trial detention center in the presence of lawyer Oksana Darova after Alekhina refused to be transferred without familiarizing herself with the documents.
Darova reports that during the meeting with Alekhina, they were familiarized with the resolution of the Perm Regional Court, which states that the administration of the colony in Bereznyaki is obliged to ensure Alekhina’s participation in the court hearing in Perm via video link. This means, according to the lawyer, that there were no grounds for transferring Alekhina, since the video communication in the colony is working and in good order.
According to Darova, at first they “were told orally that there was no court requirement, then some detective came running and said that they were not obligated and should not introduce us to such papers! We refused the stage and presented additional claims to the pre-trial detention center, they said that we have claims to the pre-trial detention center: they refused to acquaint us with the personal file of the convicted person. Then Masha was grabbed by several guards and extremely rudely, using force, they dragged her out of the room to be sent along the stage,” she also said.
