Meeting "Izborsky Club"

Russian political scientists conservative-patriotic, in Izborsk, created a new closed club. Among the participants in the meeting, Alexander Dugin, Alexander Prokhanov, Maxim Kalashnikov, Mikhail Delyagin ... They say that the creation of the club was either initiated or supported by the presidential administration. Well, God with them ... Clubs are good. Different clubs are needed, clubs are different important. The main thing is for which they are organized: for the sake of fighting opponents-maids or for the sake of promoting their values ​​and the search for allies.

So the Minister of Culture of Medinsky, looking at the light in Izborsk, it would seem, correctly declared: “The club should become a place where people who love Russia worked together, searched for general ways and determined where we move on. They hate Russia the same way, but everyone loves it in their own way. ” “Let's look for points of contact in the framework of this site,” the minister called. This means that the club can become a free tribune for ideological discussion, despite its suspicious closeness.

True, it is difficult to believe in it. The hospitable governor of the Pskov region Turchak, for his part, acted quite confrontation: “It was the expert community that will be able to find answers to the incoming“ swamp provocations ”and other challenges.”

But what I thought about when I learned about the creation of a conservative-patriotic club: who are the conservatives and how they are so serious from the liberals? After all, in fact, these are not antagonists, the difference is only in shades and accents. If conservatives talk more about the state, traditions, family values, religion, this does not mean that they reject democracy, independent court, human rights, freedom of conscience, science. And, accordingly, on the contrary. Both those and others want their homeland, they simply sometimes understand patriotism differently. In addition, conservatives and liberals clearly have one common - among the values ​​of both of them, unlike socialists, there is private property. This is the basis for understanding.

Therefore, the conservatives and liberals should not fight each other, as it happens with us, but to cooperate, preserving the natural balance so that it does not skew in one direction or another. For then this is no longer conservatism, but obscurantism and fascism, not liberalism, but unbridledness and permissiveness. Can't there be convergence here? ..
For example, I am a liberal conservative or, if you like, a conservative liberal. Depending on which direction the roll is.

Of course, not everything is so peaceful and cloudless. Among the conservatives, in theory, there can not be atheists and cosmopolitans, and among the liberals there are a lot of them. Conservatives look at the world, mainly, as something unchanged, especially at the nature of man and human society, and liberals believe in the human mind, in many ways connecting the problems of world order with poor policy, which constantly through democratic institutions want to improve.

But is this a reason for the barricades? Only for discussions and honest political rivalry.
