When there's a big fight

As Yevgeny Yevtushenko thoughtfully wrote, “God grant more different countries, / Without losing ours, however.” True, it is not entirely clear to whom “without losing” and “our own” applied. Not to God. Be that as it may, many countries is probably good, although not everyone likes it. But the appearance of the state of Abkhazia on the world map, not welcomed by Georgia, was approved by the island state of Vanuatu in the Pacific Ocean. Thus, Russia, Nicaragua, Venezuela and the state of Nauru have added ally. Vanuatu has not yet reported recognition of South Ossetia (the others listed have recognized the independence of South Ossetia).

Shortly before information appeared about the recognition of Abkhazia as another state, the funeral of the second president of Abkhazia, Sergei Bagapsh, took place in Moscow, under whom, in fact, all these recognitions of independence began.

Representatives of Georgia have already condemned the recognition of the independence of Abkhazia by the Republic of Vanuatu and stated that this recognition was bought. Previously, similar information was received in connection with recognition by Venezuela and Nauru.
