On Tuesday, the prosecutor's office of the Murmansk region opened a criminal case against Valery Yarantsev for illegal fishing and illegal deprivation of liberty. The captain of the ill-fated ship himself is now in the hospital, does not admit his guilt and does not give any testimony. There are no guarantees that he will speak even after recovery: according to current Russian legislation, he has the right not to testify against himself.
