The rector has changed in GITIS

Today, May 16, the Minister of Culture Vladimir Medinsky will present to the team of the Russian University of Theater Arts - GITIS of the new acting rector. By order of the minister, he was appointed theater and theater critic Grigory Zaslavsky.

This was reported by Interfax with reference to a source close to the leadership of the Ministry of Culture. “The current rector of Karina Melik-Pashayeva was dismissed after the maximum age,” the source explained.

Karina Melik-Pashaeva (b. 1946) headed GITIS since 2009.

In 1993, Grigory Zaslavsky (b. 1967) graduated from the GITIS Theater Faculty, worked in the magazines “Musical Life”, “Moscow Observer”, “October”, was the theater observer of Radio of Russia, Radio Nadezhda, says Moscow, Mayak.

Deputy Head of the Department of Culture “Independent Gazeta”, observer of the Vesti Information Channel, a member of the Commission of the Union of Theater Workers of the Russian Federation on Criticism and Theater Sciences, Head of the Working Group of the Theater Case of the Public Council at the Ministry of Culture (since 2013).
