A parliamentary group led by Boris Gryzlov submitted to the State Duma a bill providing for the suspension of the work of an enterprise if the wages of its employees are below the minimum established by law. In addition, deputies proposed to raise the minimum wage from 1,100 to 2,000 rubles from September 1, 2007. However, as Kommersant notes, in practice this will not lead to an increase in wages: legislators intend to include all existing additional payments and allowances in the minimum wage.
