At the Faculty of Design of the Higher School of Economics, an exhibition of the modern Swiss poster Weltform Poster Festival: Lucerne - Moscow.
The Weltformat , born five years ago in Lucerne, seems to have decided to take the East. Last year, the exhibition was shown in China, now the turn has reached Russia. The Higher School of Economics undertook to shelter three dozen works of modern Swiss designers, on the basis of which a new faculty of design appeared only a few months ago (from Moscow Weltform Poster Festival: Lucerne-Moscow will go to other Russian cities where the branches of the Higher School of Economics are operating: St. Petersburg, Nizhny Novgorod, Nizhny Novgorod, Nizhny Novgorod Perm). In the narrow corridors of the educational building, stands with posters for jazz concerts of the living classic of the graphic design of Niclaus Troxler , the advertising signs of Mega Tsumstein and Claudio Barandun (Studio HI ), the posters of music festivals and art exhibitions of Mattias Hofmann and Merta Infangera, the ironic posters of Erich, were located. Brekhbul (president and co -founder of Weltformat ) and many other regular participants in the festival in Lucerne.
Among them there are also very young designers who are little-known outside Switzerland-for example, 29-year-old Noel Loy, who is experiencing a lot of typographic fonts and books design. In 2009, he, together with like -minded people, created his own word -muddy (production that develops and produces fonts) Grilli TYPE and the Edition publishing house Grilli . Especially for the Moscow exhibition, Loy was prepared by the ironic poster “Russian alphabet”, combining all the main images of Russia, firmly learned in the West: an Olympic bear on the Soviet coat of arms, a five -pointed star and a red panel. Such an interest in Soviet aesthetics is not at all accidental: the designer is studying the Russian language at the University of Zurich.
The Swiss with their eternal neutrality about politics rarely and reluctantly speak.
Amadeus Waltershpul works mainly with animation - he himself organizes musical concerts, which performs with original performance connecting designer works and music. At the exhibition you can see some posters created specifically for such concerts (for example, for the Rich Hamburg DJ vom Dorf ). Reto Loithold also creates musical posters-its posters, made mainly for the Lucerne Club of Alternative Music Sedel , are distinguished by dynamic design and unchanging irony (for example, a poster for Swiss garage roders Roy And The Devils Motorcycle ).

The communications design studio C 2 F (it was founded in 2006 by Tsibu Rikhli, Fabyen Burri and Dani Clauser) is engaged in the design of books, magazines, mobile applications, as well as web design, and for musical and theater festivals arranged by the Canton Lucerne Culture Committee, creates simple and graphic posters (including, for example, Weltformata poster 2012). As part of the joint Russian-Swiss project, Lucerne meets with Moscow, designers from C 2 f along with Nikicas Troxler, Erich Brechbul, Felix Pfeffley, Noel Loy, Megi Tsumstein gave a series of short lectures for students of the Higher School on the development of a modern Swiss poster. Next year, they promise to come to Moscow specifically in order to read individual lecture courses dedicated to the theory and history of graphic design.
Show today an exhibition of a political poster at any little-old Piglet for this-and it would immediately be in the focus of universal attention. But the Swiss with their eternal neutrality about politics rarely and reluctantly speak. So now the exhibition turned out about the design - and nothing more. In this sense, the best site than the Faculty of Design of the Higher School of Economics, for Weltformat Poster Festival : Lucerne - There is no way to find Moscow - here the Swiss designers have the most grateful spectators.
