The verification of signatures submitted in support of the registration of Mikhail Kasyanov is still ongoing, but leaks have begun to flow from the Central Election Commission. It turns out that the collected signatures do not meet the high requirements of Russian legislation. Thus, CEC member Elvira Nikolaeva said: “We are talking about a large number of rejected signatures.” A Tsikovsky source for the Vedomosti newspaper reported that 7.5 percent of the verified signatures were rejected. If the data is confirmed, the former prime minister will be removed from the election race.
At the same time, mass inspections of the accuracy of signature collection began in the regions. OBOP officers began door-to-door canvassing of signature collectors. At the same time, the police are persistently finding out whether any violations occurred during the collection.
And official newspapers, in the voices of official political strategists, explain one after another that the required number of signatures is impossible to collect in principle. And therefore, Kasyanov’s headquarters is doomed to falsification. It’s funny that in their attempts to discredit an undesirable candidate, the authors convincingly prove that the legislation is such that it allows the authorities to allow only the “right” candidates to participate in the elections.
