The participants of the rally timed to coincide with the meeting of the heads of G8 parliaments detained in St. Petersburg were justified. According to the head of the St. Petersburg branch of the United Civil Front, Olga Kurnosova, the cases brought against the rally participants were dismissed by the 208th Magistrate Court due to the absence of an administrative offense in the actions of the protesters. Now the former defendants intend to appeal to the prosecutor's office with a demand to initiate a criminal case against the illegal actions of the police officers who dispersed the rally.
