Deadly Lawlessness

Yesterday, a rally in memory of the fallen journalists was held in Novopushkinsky Park in the center of Moscow. About 400 people came and read out a list of journalists killed in Russia since 1997 - there were 211 names. Last on the list was Anna Politkovskaya. Riot police tried to stop the march in memory of the dead journalists, which took place before the start of the rally. Participants of the action walked from the House of Journalists to Novopushkinsky Square with portraits of the killed and the slogan “Down with the police state!”
